How Do You Apply

1. Online Application

This is the first step in the application process where you have the opportunity to tell us about yourself.

 

*It is advisable for you to complete this in one sitting and it should take you no longer than 45 minutes.

2. Online Assessment

Our assessments are unique to YCDP and help us determine if the programme is a good fit for you. 

 

Applicants who are shortlisted will be notified via email within 15 working days.

 

**It is advisable that you allocate 1 hour to complete the assessment in a distraction-free environment. 

3. Phone Interview

This is the final stage of the application process. We'd like to get to know you better and give you a chance to ask us questions.

What is the Young CEO Development Programme?

A 18-month leadership development programme for Malaysian young professionals with a focus on real-world application. At this level, participants master skills and knowledge through workshops where business tools are introduced, are propelled into the roles of decision makers through business simulations, and work on innovative solutions to complex challenges on the field while being immersed in the various industries in Malaysia. 

How is the Young CEO Development Programme different from other leadership programmes out there?

What sets the Young CEO Development Programme apart from all other leadership programmes is its sole objective in shaping the CEOs of tomorrow. It is our aim to nurture and develop talent that will lead the organisations and businesses of this country in the future; individuals who are well versed in matters of communication, creativity, business acumen, ethics, and leadership skills. 

When will the bootcamps for the next cohort take place?

The following are the estimated bootcamp dates:

 

Year 1:

Bootcamp 1: 18th - 24th July 2025

Bootcamp 2: 26th - 28th September 2025

Bootcamp 3: 21st -24th November 2025

 

Year 2:

Bootcamp 4: February 2026

Bootcamp 5: April 2026

Bootcamp 6: June 2026

Bootcamp dates are subject to change and confirmation.

Would there be any allowance for participants of the Young CEO Development Programme?

No, participants will not be given any allowances throughout the duration of the programme. However, the expenses incurred throughout the programme will be borne by Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP).

Would there be a contract with Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP)?

Yes, participants will be required to sign a contract and Waiver of Liability. However, it will not be with Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP), rather with its governing entity, Axiata Foundation. The contract is to ensure participants attend the programme in full and adhere to all other codes of conduct set by the Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP) and Axiata Foundation throughout the duration of the programme.

Would participants be bonded to Axiata Group Berhad or Axiata Foundation or Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP) after graduating from the programme?

No, participants will not be bonded to either organisations after graduating from the programme. However, participants will be invited to join the Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP) Alumni Association or formally known as, Emerging Leaders Asia.

Is the Young CEO Development Program a form of employment?

No, the Young CEO Development Program is NOT a form of employment.

Is there a fee to participate in the Young CEO Development Programme?

There is a one-time commitment fee of RM500 to join the Young CEO Development Programme starting in 2025.

If a participant chooses to drop out of the programme for any reason (e.g., personal, professional, or health-related), the fee is non-refundable

 

Exception

Fee forfeiture may be waived in documented circumstances, subject to approval by the programme committee. 

When are applications open?

The applications are currently closed.

Who is eligible to apply?

Applications are open to all Malaysian young professionals in the age bracket of 23 to 30 years old that are currently residing in Malaysia. 

What are the minimum application requirements for the Young CEO Development Programme?

Applicants are expected to be young professionals holding a bachelor’s degree or higher with a minimum of 1 year of work experience. Applicants must also demonstrate proven leadership qualities and an eagerness to learn. 

Where do I apply for the Young CEO Development Programme?

Applications are to be completed online at our website. Please note that manual submission will NOT be accepted. 

What is the application process?

When can I expect to hear back after submitting my application online?

Applicants will receive feedback within 2 weeks from the date of submission. Only successful applicants will be notified about moving on to the next stage.

If my application has been rejected, will I be notified?

Yes, candidates who are not eligible for the programme will be notified accordingly at the respective stages of the selection process.

Will I receive feedback if I am not selected?

Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to offer individual feedback to applicants who are not selected. We appreciate your interest and wish you success in your future endeavours.

When will shortlisted applicants be informed to attend an interview?

Our shortlisting process is done on a rolling basis, and shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview in due process.

When will offer letters be sent out?

Offer letters will be distributed in batches starting from June 9. Please keep an eye out on your email for notifications.

What should I do if I have not heard back within 2 weeks?

How many candidates will be taken in per intake?

Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP) will take in no more than 80 outstanding individuals per intake.

What would the Young CEO Development Programme curriculum encompass?

The Young CEO Development Programme encompasses experiential workshops & bootcamps, business simulations & challenges, online learning, coaching and mentoring.

In between bootcamps, what will the schedule be like?

In between bootcamps, the schedule will be flexible to each participant. There will be a set of mandatory online learning modules to be completed across the 18 months journey, which supports the continuous learning ethos of AYTP. Beyond this, mentoring and coaching sessions are also made available to those who require, the frequency and availability are subjected to the schedule of both mentor and participant.

Is it compulsory to participate in all boot camps, classes, and coaching sessions?

Yes, it is compulsory for participants of the Young CEO Development Programme to attend all bootcamps and modules – it is crucial to the development of participants to become future CEOs. 

Would there be exceptions if a participant is not able to make it for the bootcamps and the respective workshops, classes, business simulation and challenges that fall within the bootcamp, or general programme timeline?

Attendance is compulsory for each and every boot camp of the Young CEO Development Programme unless due to health reasons or any extenuating circumstances. Evidence of a medical report or the equivalent is required. 

How long will the bootcamps run?

Bootcamps will typically run as a 3 to 4-day session (except the 1st and last bootcamp which run for a maximum of 7 days). And it is anticipated that participants will be required to take time off from work or classes.

 

 A typical boot camp will run on these days:

 

  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
Is the programme conducted based on a cut-off basis where participants are eliminated at each Grand Finale?

No, the program does not operate on a cut-off basis where participants are eliminated at each bootcamp. However, participants must meet the minimum attendance requirements to maintain eligibility for graduation. Failure to graduate may also impact eligibility for invitation to join the Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP) Alumni Association, known as Emerging Leaders Asia (ELA).
