1. Online Application

This is the first step in the application process where you have the opportunity to tell us about yourself.

2. Online Assessment

Our assessments are unique to ULDP and help us determine if the programme is a good fit for you.

What is the University Leadership Development Programme?

The University Leadership Development Programme is a leadership development platform that aims to design, mould, and advance Malaysian youths to become the CEOs of tomorrow.

How is the University Leadership Development Programme different from other leadership programmes out there?

What sets the University Leadership Development Programme apart from all other leadership programmes is its sole objective of developing the CEOs of tomorrow. It is our aim to develop talents that will lead the organisations and businesses of this country in the future; individuals who are well versed in communication, creativity, business acumen, ethics, and leadership skills.

What is the difference between the University Leadership Development Programme (ULDP) and the Young CEO Development Programme (YCDP)?

ULDP is undergraduates for fresh graduates, whereas YCDP is for young professionals.

Would there be any fees to pay for the University Leadership Development Programme?

No, there will not be any fees borne by the participants. All expenses incurred during the programme will be borne by Axiata. However, this excludes transportation to and from place of study or residence to Axiata Tower in Kuala Lumpur.

Would there be any allowance for participants of the University Leadership Development Programme?

No, participants will not be given any allowances throughout the duration of the programme. 

Would there be a contract with Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP)?

Yes, participants will be required to sign a contract and Waiver of Liability. However, it will not be with Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP), rather with its governing entity, Axiata Foundation. The contract is to ensure participants attend the programme in full and adhere to all other codes of conduct set by the Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP) and Axiata Foundation throughout the duration of the programme.

Would participants be bonded to Axiata Group Berhad or Axiata Foundation or Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP) after graduating from the programme?

No, participants will not be bonded to either organisations after graduating from the programme. However, participants will be invited to join the Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP) Alumni Association.

What sets this year's University Leadership Development Programme apart from the previous years' programmes?

This year's ULDP offers a dynamic blend of virtual and in-person learning in a hybrid format. We're excited to continue with the three new modules focused on in-demand digital skills: Generative AI, Digital Finance, and Digital Perspective.

Can I participate in ULDP while my semester is ongoing?

Yes, you can, but how you manage it depends on your priorities. Think about how this experience could shape your future, weigh it against your current studies, and decide what's best for your growth.

Who is eligible to apply?

Applications are open to all Malaysian citizens and permanent residences currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme - either locally or abroad, aged between 19 and 25 years old.

What are the minimum requirements to apply for the University Leadership Development Programme?

Applicants must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree. Applicants must also demonstrate convincing leadership qualities and eagerness to learn and grow.

When will shortlisted applicants be notified?

Our shortlisting process is done on a rolling basis, and shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview in due process during the application period.

How many candidates will be taken in per batch?

Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP) will accept no more than 80 outstanding individuals per intake.

Where do I apply for the University Leadership Development Programme?

The application is currently closed.

What would the curriculum of the University Leadership Development Programme encompass?

The curriculum of the University Leadership Development Programme encompasses experiential workshops, business simulations, team building activities and networking sessions.

Is it compulsory to attend the entire two weeks of the University Leadership Development Programme?

Yes, it is compulsory for participants to attend the entire two weeks of the University Leadership Development Programme. It must be noted that this is a residential boot camp, whereby participants will be staying at the accommodation provided by Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP). Exceptions will only be made for health reasons or extenuating circumstance, as evidenced by medical reports or the equivalent.

Is the programme conducted on an elimination basis whereby candidates are dropped after each business simulation?

No, the programme is not run on an elimination basis.
