Ganesh Muren

Ganesh Muren is a seasoned social entrepreneur and engineer, widely recognized for his pioneering work in clean water access, renewable energy, and rural infrastructure across Malaysia. He has led scalable, impact-driven projects that combine engineering innovation with deep community engagement, delivering practical solutions that improve quality of life in underserved areas. 

His work has brought solar-powered water purification systems, off-grid electrification, and sustainable sanitation solutions to over 100 remote villages, positively impacting more than 10,000 individuals across Malaysia. 

A mechanical engineer by training, Ganesh began his journey in social innovation after developing a solar-powered water system inspired by field experiences in low-resource communities. His leadership and innovation have earned him global recognition, including being named a Laureate Global Fellow, a Cemex-Tec Award recipient, and a Tatler Malaysia Force for Good honouree. He also participated in a private leadership summit with former U.S. President Barack Obama.
